STEPS-TO-ATTRACT-GOD'S-RICHES
According to the scriptures,
in 2 Corinthians 8:9, our Lord Jesus became poor in order to make you and I
rich. Therefore, we can clearly see that
God’s purpose for us is not just to have life, but to have
it abundantly (John 10:10). As children of the most high God, we need to take
the following steps to attract God’s riches.
SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD
AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS
If you read the book of
Matthew Chapter 6: 31-33, you will agree with me that we do not need to be
worried about our earthly problems or needs. Rather, we should be interested in
God’s kingdom and what it requires. According to our Lord,
if we do this, other things shall be added on to us.
We all know about the story
of Solomon. He asked for wisdom to enable him manage the Kingdom. He wanted to
implement the principles of God’s Kingdom. What did
God do? He did not just make Solomon wise, he gave him wealth, long life, peace
, fame. In a nut shell, he clothed Solomon with glory (2 Chronicles 1:11-12).
We can attract God’s riches if we keep
God first place.
You and I must conform our
selves to the principles of the kingdom of God that Jesus taught us. Your life
should reflect that of our lord Jesus Christ at all times. The scripture also
tells us that the fear of the Lord is the first step to acquire wisdom.
Let us ask the good Lord to
give us the perseverance to do his will.
This is the first step to
attract God’s riches.
ALMS GIVING
In the gospel of Luke 6: 38,
our Lord Jesus gave us a detailed insight to what alms giving can do for you
and I. According to him, if you give, you receive a good measure that is
pressed down and running over. Yes, he actually said “pressed
down” which simply means chock-full.
This principle is well-known
by rich men and women. Majority of them donate huge sums for charity and they
never lack. The word of God gives us the assurance that whatever we receive
when we give will be running over. To attract God’s
riches we need to give freely. It is written God loves a cheerful giver.
However, it is important to
note that alms giving should be done privately.
According to the scripture, we should not give alms to win the praise of
others. The condition for receiving the blessing attached to alms giving is to
do so in secret.
Let us ask the good lord to
give us the grace to be generous with what we have.
This is another step to
attract God’s riches.

GRATITUDE
Gratitude is a major virtue
that we ought to cultivate. A contented person will always be grateful for what
he has. On the other hand, an ingrate who is not satisfied with what he has may
not be aware of his priceless gift.
In the letter of Paul to the
Philippians Chapter 4: 10-19 you will see how the Apostle Paul was able to
demonstrate his gratitude to the Philippians because he was contented.
According to his letter, he learnt to be satisfied with what he has.
Similarly, our Lord Jesus
said those who are not faithful with little things are also not faithful with
bigger things (Luke 16 :10)
Although what you have now
may appear to be little, still thank God for it. When Jesus healed the 10
lepers, the only one who was completely healed was the one that came back to
say thank you. God’s will for us is that we give thanks to him in all circumstances. If you
fail to give thanks to God, it implies that you have taken for granted the
numerous favors that God gave you. For instance, good health, parents, family
and others.
In conclusion, our gratefulness
will attract God’s riches for us. May the good Lord give us the grace
to be grateful for all he has done for
us.

Dear Jesus, I thank you for
all you have done for me, Today,
I plead that you be the
center of my life.
Help me to walk with you all
the days of my life,
